COMPETITION AREA

If at any point during a flyers run they themselves physically (this is not applicable to equipment) exit the competition area they will receive a warning with no deduction to their score. The warning will come in the form of one short horn and a flag waive to indicate to the rider to head back into the competition area. Please note: the time does not stop upon that warning horn so it's important the rider gets right back into the competition area and continue their run with no stop. If a rider exits the competition area two times during the same run, a long horn will sound the end of their run and an automatic 2.5 point deduction will be taken off of their total combined score.

STOPPAGE IN RUNS

The rider is responsible at all times for their own equipment. Rider equipment here should be defined as anything and everything that pertains to their actual board including the boots. At no time in any run will the rider be allowed to pause their run in order to fix or adjust their equipment. For example, and not only pertaining to the following: if a board breaks, a binding slips, a boot becomes loose or a port blows, that is the responsibility of the rider and will not permit a stoppage in time. The ONLY time a run will be permitted to stop is if there is equipment failure outside a rider’s board as outlined above. Examples of that are, EMK failure, hose issues, wave runner malfunctions, power issues etc. Keep in mind, if the rider causes any of these issues the run will NOT stop. Example, a rider performs a trick that results in a hose kink or tangle and therefore the hose is not allowing the water to properly pass through, that will NOT permit a stoppage in time. The rider caused that issue therefore the rider will be held responsible.

CAPSIZED WAVE RUNNER

A wave runner is considered capsized or “flipped” when the wave runner has turned a 180 (give or take a few degrees) degrees over. A wave runner is also considered capsized or flipped if it has turned over enough where both the left and right grips on the handle bars have touched the water even if it turns right back over. If this happens during a riders run, the run is immediately stopped and scored based up to that point and an automatic 5 point reduction in the total combined score will be applied.

NOTE: If this happens during a riders run the rider will be asked to turn off the machine and NOT restart it. Efforts should be made by the rider to turn the machine back over properly or wait for safety personnel to do so but at no point in the situation of a flipped wave runner should the rider keep the machine running.

This is NOT a flipped wave runner, (picture below) the run will not stop and there is no automatic deduction for this outside of whatever potential impact it made on the judges. However again, there is NO automatic deduction for this and the flyer should consider this as no stoppage in their run.
